Manika

Manika (pronounced Ma-NEE-ka) was discovered by Frank DiLeo, Michael Jackson’s long-time manager.  Manika moved from her hometown Las Vegas to Hollywood where her musical career blossomed. That first summer, Manika headlined Pepsi’s Shop Till You Rock Tour across America.  She also performed live at several radio stations, local and national TV and schools in cities across America.  Some major events Manika performed at include the Hollywood Style Awards, the nationally-televised Hallmark Hollywood Christmas Parade, Kiss FM’s Wango Tango, and the popular Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary Tour.  Less than a year into her career, Manika performed at sold-out arenas in over 20 cities across North America with the most popular boy-band in the world – One Direction.

Manika has four million fans on Facebook and Twitter and over four million YouTube views.  You can visit her social sites at:  www.facebook.com/ManikaOfficial, www.twitter.com/ManikaOfficial, www.youtube.com/ManikaOfficial, www.instagram.com/ManikaOfficial, www.ManikaOfficial.com.

Bringing a fresh, edgy vibe to mainstream pop and unafraid to boldly speak her mind, Manika came out of the gate with two Top-50 hits: 1) “Just Can’t Let You Go” featuring Young Money’s Lil’ Twist and 2) “Good Girls” produced by the renowned Soulshock.  Manika is now releasing her third single: “My Way”…an anthem for teens that inspires the young to listen to their hearts and be strong.

Prior to her musical success, Manika wrote and published The Exciting Adventures of Boo, a children’s book.  She donated the proceeds of the first 750 books ($15,000) to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and served as their teen spokesperson.  Manika also read her book to inner-city schoolchildren and young cancer patients. Her experiences with the underprivileged and unfortunate inspired one of her songs on her debut double-album (to be released in coordination with her single “My Way”).  She wrote this very personal song “Through the Eyes of the Young” alone and from her heart, and she plans to donate the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Manika continually participates in charity causes during her young music career.  In her hometown of Las Vegas, she led the bike drive for 98.5 KLUC’s annual Christmas Toy Drive…breaking the record for the number of bikes donated.  Manika performed at her own expense (never accepting payment) at the safe-texting event for KRUF-FM in Shreveport, LA.  Manika had her picture taken as part of the well-known NOH8 movement.  She attends anti-bullying causes.  And she helped build a house with Habitat for Humanity.  Someday, Manika plans to start her own charity.

Legendary manager of Michael Jackson, the late Frank DiLeo, said this about Manika: “Manika is a supernova ready to explode. She is a very rare and unique talent, who can do it all. She sings, she acts, she writes and delivers everything with her trademark style of sassiness and soul. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to discover her. The Kid has it.”  Shortly before his tragedy, Mr. DiLeo announced: “I am coming out of retirement to manage one last big act: Manika.”
